As a ESL English teacher I realised that as long as you are prepared for lessons and are willing to accept that things might not go to plan, teaching can be an extremely rewarding and an unforgettable experience. After each class I find myself leaving the students with a massive smile on my face and knowing that this is the type of work that I love doing. I found that teaching English to non-native students don't have to be about some big complex theory on how different our language systems are. Simple games and activities always work the best. Start off with an Ice Breaker and after the students have played it a few times, you can switch it up to make it more challenging and fun. Once you’ve found a few failsafe games, your job will become easier and you can elaborate on them with different language structures, rather than going into full winded explanations. I love working with all age group as it’s the best excuse to release your inner child; when used frequently, it’s harder to lock it away again. Life becomes more colourful; the classroom is your stage. Students especially young adults learn the best when they’re having fun, so if the teacher is having fun, it adds to the excitement. By incorporating some target language into the games for optimum memorization and language production. Silliness is not only encouraged, it’s expected.

I'm from South Africa, and I came to Russia in 2000. I am a fun and experienced English teacher who loves working with students of all ages and levels. I have my 180-hour TESOL/TEFL certificate as well as 3 modules Cambridge TKT certificates as well as Child Psychology – The Importance of Play, Teaching ESL using Games and Activities, Working with Students with Special Educational Needs, Fundamentals of Storytelling in Education for Teachers and Trainers. Furthermore, I am qualified to help you reach your English-language goals. I've taught 1on1, group, online and special needs classes, so I have a lot of experience to offer. My hobbies are music, photography and learning new things.

My teaching engagement at ILS came after years of working with students of various age in Serbia and Venezuela. The affinity I have for linguistics led me to master a number of foreign languages, as well as to acquire two master degrees in the field. The TESOL course in teaching and the international experience I got further motivated me to pass the knowledge I obtained to others. What helps me reach my teaching goals is the excellent rapport I have with children, my effective discipline skills and high expectations from both myself and my students.

I am Diego Parra, a dedicated Business Administrator from Colombia with a specialization and diploma in Human Resources. In addition to my academic background, I have gained valuable experience over the past three years as an English teacher, working with both children and adults at the A1 level. My passion for teaching has driven me to continuously improve, and I hold a TKT certification, which reflects my strong foundation in language instruction and my deep understanding of modern teaching methodologies. I strive to create engaging and interactive learning environments where students feel confident using the language in real-life situations. As a native Spanish speaker with C1-level proficiency in English, I am able to bridge both languages effectively, enhancing my ability to communicate and teach. My goal is to inspire learners and help them achieve their language goals while ensuring they feel supported and empowered throughout the process.
